Drop-Side Crib Warning Issued (5-10-10) 05.14.2010
On May 7, 2010, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a warning on drop-side cribs. Since 2000, 32 infant and toddler deaths have been reported as the result of suffocation or strangulation caused by drop-side cribs. In the last 5 years, CPSC has issued 11 recalls involving 7 million drop-side cribs. If you are using a drop-side crib, contact the manufacturer for instructions on making the drop-side stationary. If you are shopping for a new crib, nestingmode.com has updated its crib selection to include only stationary side cribs.
