Footed Sleepers
For the first month or so, your baby will be most comfortable in footed "sleepers" -- a one-piece outfit that covers the feet. Easy to put on and remove for diaper changes, and with no elastic around the waist to irritate the healing umbilical area. For most babies, the three-month size (0-3 months) is the place to start, in fleece for the winter, cotton for warmer months and terry for everything in between. We prefer sleepers to "gowns," which are difficult to pull on and ride up.
